This week’s Maker Digest is all about a cool pallet wood jack-0-lantern, a turned on the lathe tambourine, a wicked Keris inspired ilade, and some awesome salt and pepper shakers! So grab a cold one and follow along!
Just Make It’s DIY Minimal Tool Jack-O-Lantern
I’m a huge fan of minimal tool projects! Just make it put together a cool little DIY Jack-O-Lantern made from recycled pallet wood! Fantastic stuff here. Just Make It is relatively new to the Maker and Woodworking scenes, so give him some YouTube Channel love and give him a sub! You can also check out his blog here: Just Make It
Carl Jacobson Made a Tambourine!
Carl made the coolest looking tambourine this week on his lathe. It’s a really cool process and I saw some turning techniques I’d not seen before. Great work Carl! If you want to see more, go over The Wood Shop and check out his article here: DIY Tambourine
Jimmy DiRestas Wicked Keris Inspired Blade
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. DiResta can make anything. Wood, Metal, Rock, Wind, and Fire. He controls the universe in his hands. Jimmy created a Wicked Keris Insipired blade, which of course, he immediately slaughtered a pumpkin with. Check it out! He’s got other projects here.
Jay Bate’s made Salt and Pepper Shakers
Jay put together some pretty sweet salt and pepper shakers for gifts. They’re super simple to make, yet the creative process and features make them extra elegant. You can check out Jay’s website write-up here: Jay’s Salt and Pepper Shakers
About The Geek Pub’s Weekly Maker Digest
I follow a lot of Makers around the web, and I subscribe to a lot of Maker Channels on YouTube. Each week I pick my favorite projects from around the Maker Community and post them here (and on The GeekPub Facebook page). I look for unique and interesting projects, as well projects that require fine craftsmanship, or a specific skill to accomplish. These makers put a lot of effort into their videos. So if you like their work, please consider subscribing to their channel! Check out her site at WilkerDos.com!
Suggest a Project to be Featured
I can’t watch every single video on YouTube or follow every single maker’s website. So if you have a project that you’d like to be seen here (whether you found it or made it), drop me a line at mike (at) thegeekpub.com so I don’t miss it!
