Weekly Maker Digest 3

Weekly Maker Digest #3

This weeks Weekly Maker Digest is all about homemade model rocket pads, smartphone garage door hacks, a custom 3D printed GoPro light, and a coffee table you’ll wish you had in your home!  So grab a cold one and follow along!

Grant Thompson’s Awesome Rocket Launch Pad

The King of Random made this super slick Rocket Launch Pad this week.  It’s made from simple PVC and painted, but it loos totally pro, and it seems to work like a dream.  The results are fantastic!  You can also check out how to make the rockets and rocket motors at his YouTube Channel The King of Random.

MAKE’s Smartphone Garage Door Opener

Make’s project of the week is this super cool gadget that allows you to control items from your smartphone!  Using some relays they’ve adapted it to control an old school garage door opener remotely!  Fantastic!

I Like to Make Stuff’s Awesome GoPro Light Ring

Bob at ILTMS is always coming up with sweet ideas.  This time he 3D printed an awesome light ring for a GoPro camera and controlled its circuitry with an Arduino compatible controller.  It works way better than I would have guessed too!  After you watch the video, check out his web article here: Making a GoPro Light Ring

Make Something’s Awesome Lift Top Coffee Table

David Picciuto made this wicked awesome coffee table for his living room.  The top lifts open to be used as an eat at table, or for use as a desk to hold computers.  Another great use David didn’t mention but I think is worth noting is a work space for children to do their homework where parents can supervise!  Awesome stuff David!  Check out his website article here: Lift Top Coffee Table
